Give it another angle: "angle" was a demo that the lads never finished. Liam thought it might be an interesting idea to give it to ‘UTF’ and see if you, fans, can make a song out of it. Sample it chop it etc and make the the hidden ‘becoming x’ tune that never got finished.

I have recently been contacted by a webmaster wanting to reiterate the UTF experience. He is willing to trigger the same initiative to cover songs of another lovely singer. I welcomed the idea but can't tell you more for the moment. The project will be called UNCOVER THE FANS of ... [more coming soon].

Will this project ever end ? I received what can be the fourth cover of 6 Underground, a piano version by Jered McKenna. What about a Drum'n Bass version of Kiss and Swallow? It if ever exists, it must have been covered by Deexs [Vojta]. You will probably not believe your hears ... but yes, this is a d'n'b version ! And the unexpected stroke of luck: a Rumanian cover of Bloodsport. This cover is not part of the project and has already been released over an album, with the kind permission of the band. Band is called Stigma and the track has been translated in Rumanian: Dragostea-i nebuna.

What we have achieved in one year continues to impress me. I have to admit that I thought this project wouldn't last more than a couple of months and might not have attracted much interest. You all proved I was wrong and continue to prove it. For this release, a new cover from Germany: Bandbreite covers 6 Underground, and another Sneakam X cover from Deexs: This Will Make You Love Again. The East of Europe seems to be more productive ;-). Thank you all and continue to astonish us !

The I AM X cover premièred on UNCOVER THE FANS: Deexs / Vojta astonishes us again with this very pleasant cover of "Naked But Safe". This is a world première to be soon followed by an electronic version of "This Will Make You Love Again", the so demanded. Deexs, you rock ! Thank you for this cover. Wake up fans, and cover I AM X too ! Besides, a new version of "Destroying Angel" by phon°noir is available for download over the web site. It has been remixed, new filters have been used, and it has been mastered more clearly. Thank you Matthias for this heavier version.

Roompilot believes last year he told us that he would send a copy of his own music for free. Right now, he is wrapping legal things up and he estimates his first official 13-track album will be released under a small independent electronic music label in Florida. Currently, he has uploaded 4 tracks off the album entitled "Mothmien". He will upload 5 more in the next coming weeks. They are available here: www.soundclick.com. He changed his name from "Roompilot" to "A Miracle Worker" because of legal issues.

Transporter are in the process of finishing off the transporter
album but it is constantly being delayed. Anyway they are back in
rehearsals and getting ready to play live again. In the meantime
Ian was thinking of doing a CD of the transporter back catalogue
(quite a unique collection) but he is still not sure about it.
And the song with the Johnny Cash vocals? It's called Racket. The
music was written by Nick from transporter, Ian wrote the lyrics.
The fact that Johnny Cash sings it is the combination of a miracle
and sheer, mushroom induced inspiration and genius on Ian's part,
as well as a lot of hard work and effort.
It's one of those chance, freak happenings that can't be denied.
They are planning on pressing a thousand copies and seeing how it
goes before trying to get an official release.
They will be playing it live at transporter gigs though.

I got into contact with Ian Pickering who confirmed the band is actively working on their forth album!
Besides, he provided me with his address where to send him the demo CDs of UTF. I updated the tracklisting
hereunder to reflect the burned CDs and included the "signatures" into the package ...
They should receive the CDs early next week ... Some of you are getting very nervous regarding this release ...
hehehe I can understand but let the mail service do the rest :-)

"Hot Hot Hot" like Robert Smith would have said: the final countdown just ended when I received 4 extra tracks ... and YES, they will be part of the release. Is it a relief sigh I can hear from here ? ;-p
For those who were wondering what will be the next steps, I will now prepare the 2 "demo" CDs and send them at the personal address of Liam for listening. I am pretty sure they never did listen to our, your, tracks and they will therefore discover them for the first time.
I expect them to react and confirm they intend to deliver these covers coupled with the release of their next opus, distributed as a bonus CD. We could also then imagine to try distributing the CDs to radios, ... publicise the project ! I am sure all together we can reach limits !
Of course, this is a pre-release and fans who did not get a chance to deliver on time will have a second and last chance, which deadline will depend on the reaction of the Pimps !

As the lyrics page is incomplete for the moment and Chris wanted to give the Pimps a foretaste of our CD, I thought it would be nice collecting YOUR autographs and YOUR dedications to the Pimps for the inside sleeve.
It's much nicer to get something very personal to hand them over than a "naked CD", don't you think =o)?

Great, I got news from Lumen from who I thought I would never hear again. And these are good news as they have been working on two covers, instead of one, for the moment. Some news from Shok, received oh the 11th of February:
"I got together with my two friends on Friday and we practiced the music for LOW PLACE LIKE HOME.
My mate Jimi on Guitar, my other pal, Shaun on Bass and I was on
Drums.
We then did full runs of it on Saturday and did some scratch
recording since my studio had been shut down for a few yrs and we
needed to rewire everything for the one-off recording.
We did three takes on Sunday and I think we are good. We may do
another recording if time allows it before I embark from
Philadelphia back to Hollywood aka home.
My 15 yr old cousin, Julian also added a lil Saxophone to a section
of the song. We just have to add vocals if we really like this
recording and then share it.

Regarding cover songs, I got into contact with most of you and succeeded to collect the following information:
| - | Zeitmahl: I had the great opportunity to listen yesterday to a demo cover --< really impressive. I am so sad he does not want to deliver more covers: I will try to persuade hime ;-) The recording of the final version took place yesterday with a friend and I expect to receive it tonight. |
| - | Mercedes and Sergio: I got the confirmation they enjoyed covering their song and will deliver it by the end of this week. |
| - | Midsegue: as you already know, they requested to have two additional days for their cover which should lead to a delivery in the coming days. |
| - | Marc Swadel: Marc and his mates have been working on about 5 covers but still need to decide which one will be part of the project. My answer is: ALL of them ... but this won't probably happen ;-p. |
| - | Petra and René: are finalizing their covers and should deliver something end of this week. |
| - | Maurits and Angela: will be late ;-). |

Maurits and Angela finally managed to plan in some time for the cover. They will be working on the music on Friday the 16th and record the vocals on the 22nd. So a first version should be expected shortly after that.
They also decided not to go for Spin Spin Sugar since they'd prefer to do a song that wasn't done yet. They are still deciding between Waterbaby or How do.

Jon Krdu [C7ICKTRACK ] is in the middle of trying out a couple of different musicians to work with. Hopefully, they'll get started on this weekend. Jon already know what he is doing, so it'll only take a couple days once he gets started. January 31st at the absolute latest..

The latest update for 2003: a new section called FAN AREA where you will find links to fan pages. New details over some fans and covers and finally new entries in the MESSAGE BOARD. Happy New Year and my Best Wishes go to all of you, fans!

Two new covers are announced from Vojta [Spring 2004] and Blake [January 2004]. Due to some confusion, C7ICKTRACK thought they were off the project due to the missed deadline but they are back and should deliver something early 2004. It is time to fix a new deadline: the 31st of January 2004:
by that date I expect to receive most of the covers and we should start deciding what to do with those covers. By the way I know Petra and Rene did work hard last week-end and should deliver something this week.

Wow ... nearly 1500 visits since I put this counter on, and in one month elapsed only. Fans: you rock ! Looks like this project is on the 7th high ! Nothing really new today ... few look and feel updates, new banner pics ... including a black sheep ;-) Have a look !

Wow, looks like you fans are in a lucky day ;-)
I was chating with Shok [Zeithmahl] and suddenly, listening to Shok's
excellent stuffs, thought: we still can improve the quality of the
web site, making a wink to the Pimps and their own web site.
I asked to Shok if he would allow me to add his Pimps music to the
web site. Obviously, he agreed and you now can listen to a loop of
Low Five made by Shok on the main page of the web site.

3 new covers have been proposed: Ali Fletcher [Splinter], Cure For Cancer [Walking Zero] and Xavier Gillmann [not yet decided].

I did receive a progression status from some of you:
| - | Cure For Cancer: the cover is already completed and will be available end of this week. |
| - | Zeitmahl: the cover of Spin Spin Sugar will soon be available while other demos should be on later this week. |
| - | Hundredweight: the tune is completed and should then be "computerized"... just a question of days. |
| - | T-LAZARUS: the cover will be available on the 15th of december while a demo should be available this week-end. |
| - | Sudden Silence: the track is nearly completed and is only missing some back-vocals. Benoit finally decided to sing onto it while his mate will complete the back vocals. The final version will be available end of this week. |
| - | Maurits and Angela: nothing really new except work should progress during Christmas holidays. |
| - | C7ICKTRACK: it looks like he'll probably only finish the latter by the 8th... hopefully. |

The birth of UNCOVER THE FANS - the whole story:
Ryan, from Oddstar, triggered the idea of covering the Sneaker Pimps and submitted this
idea on the "Low Place Like Home" yahoo forum. Rapidly, the idea made his way and provoked
a wave of posts on the forum: definitely fans wanted to be part of it.
This project needed a place to be where the information could be centralized, easy to share
and accessible for everyone, and not only the fans! Being all but a musician, I brought my
contribution by making this little web site ...
The site is evolving thanks to fans who are very active and inclined to provide with
new materials. On my side, I promise I'll make my best to keep it updated on a very regular basis.
