I have not had yet added the real vocal take.. these were some of the scratch tracks so I could make sure the song
was headed in the right direction. Also the vocals for the second verse are not on this demo.
I will have a better version when the rest of my musical obligations chill down a bit.

|:. 10th of December 2003: Destroying Angel [feat. OptimaX]
The cover of Destroying Angel sounds like the original various times but the structure is vastly different along with some new, original themes. The song version I created doesn't know what it wants to be and thats exactly how I want it to be. I purposely made the production sound imperfect as an allusion to the title of the Sneaker Pimps original.

|:. 18th of November 2003: Loretta Young Silks [demo]
This is the "skeleton" of the song, just the drum tracks and synths. No details, no flourishes, no magic. It may give some idea as to the direction of the track, though. This is just what I'm using to practice the other parts and work out how I want it all to come together. The final version will feature bass, guitar and vocal parts, as well...

This is a pretty straight cover rather than a remix. We started out with other ideas, but when they were executed we realised that sticking pretty much to the original sounded best. We retained some of synth parts and knew that the project was complete when we slotted in the backwards intro !

Here it comes, thanks to the deadline, forcing us to deliver the baby. I finally sang the main vocals, having Velma singing the back voices. Goldfish did provide with some guitar samples and we did work together on the bass guitar, making it sound like a vynil at some points of the track. We had a lot of audio channels to be mixed together but finally succeeded with very few material.

This track was recorded without sequencing or a sampler. The synthesizers heard are all Analog or Virtual Analog - models used include a Korg MS-2000, an Oberheim OB-12, and a Moog MiniMoog Voyager Signature Edition. The drum machine is a Korg ER-1 which is a Virtual Analog drum
machine with PCM cymbals. The acoustic guitar is a 1969 Martin D-35. Dana did three complete vocals, each one very different from the other. The first take was used with shadow vocals from the other two takes. She was recorded with very, very light compression using a Shure SM-58
microphone. All vocals and instruments were recorded on 8 tracks of digital audio on an Alesis ADAT-XT and mixed down to stereo on a Sony DTC-75ES DAT recorder. The recording, mixing and effects were done on a Behringer UB2442FX-Pro mixer. The DAT tape was then digitally transferred
and sample-rate converted on a computer.
On a side note, at the time of most of the recording of this track, Paul had a fever of about 100~101 degrees F.

|:. 27th of March 2004: How Do [demo]
My highly preliminairy version of How Do is now open to public. :)I plan to add some more instruments (not
to make it busier, but to make more variation), certainly a real accoustic guitar (the one you hear here is
a pretty good imitation but is still obviously a synth) :) and hopefully a cello or contrabass. The vocals
will be a lot better too. ;) (We kinda underestimated how difficult the melody was).
Still this should do as a first glimpse. :)

so, here is my attempt on destroying angel.
it turned out to become a rather edgy and reduced version. i simply love playing around with strange little loops - it is basically what i do on phon°noir tracks. so i tried to minimize the pimps' chords and the melody until i finally could work with just one loop throughout almost the whole song. the chorus-part is rather abstract as well, but i think one can perfectly tell which song it shall be... i will let this all be just like it is, for some days or weeks maybe. if i find it weird or stupid, or both, i might rearrange it someday. but this is basically what it will be like.
