This web site has been given more and more attention and is gaining success. The drawback of this is that SNEAKERPIMPS.be is frequently reaching its limitations in terms of download traffic (more than 40 Gigs a month). This leads to availability shortages: the provider simply closes the site! Two options: reduce the quantity of freebees or increase the service level of SNEAKERPIMPS. I would prefer to implement the second solution since the first one is no sense. But, of course, this requires money and your help. Answering a request from most of fans, I created a video section over SP.be which will contain all Sneaker Pimps and side projects videos. The videos are encoded via Macromedia Flash and require Flash Player 8.0.
I haven't had the time to upload much videos so far but more will follow in the coming days.
Anyway, as a first entry, let's focus on one of the most recent IAMX videos.
As you know, IAMX collaborated with Igor Vdovin for the soundtrack of the Russian movie Zhest. The track is called Junk and is based on the song S.H.E. featured on the new album from IAMX - The Alternative.

Junk OST was presented at the Sixteen Tons cub on March 24. The video features excerpts from the movie and shots taken during the IAMX gig which took place right after the press conference. Indeed, Chris came to Moscow for a gig at a closed Junk release party on March 22 and an exclusive open gig at 16 Tons club on March 24 at the Junk soundtrack presentation. The after party hosted by Ivan Urgant was held at Dyagilev club. The IAMX gig was one of the brightest moments of the night.

This will begin yet another chapter in Chris’ journey as an artist: the songs are very rock oriented. The first impression of the press after screening the film in France has been very positive about the music.

Moonbootica is about to release the Pretty Little Angel track on their album co-written and performed by IAMX as the second single from their album.
The track has been getting praise by press due to IAMX lyrics & performance. It's been a high ITUNE download as well, which made the record company to decide to release it as a single. The track will be out towards the 3rd week of November, and will be followed by an animated music video.

Sneaker Pimps will hold an audition in the search of a female bass player/singer in October in Berlin. Candidates should contact us to submit material. The group’s long-awaited fourth album is scheduled to be out in 2006. The album is planned to be recorded in Berlin during the months of Jan-Feb.
::: Chris Corner - Les chevaliers du ciel - Soundtrack
Chris Corner has finished the Soundtrack to the French film " LES CHEVALIERS DU CIEL" directed by Gerard Pires. The recording, which took place between Berlin and Paris, includes some collaboration by Chris’ Talented friends such as Sue Denim from Robots in Disguise on vocals, Anne De Wolff, Anne-Marie Kirby, And Margit Van Der Zwan on strings. LES CHEVALIERS DU CIEL, directed by Gerard Pires, is planned to be released in over 70 countries and the Premiere will be on November 9 in Paris (http://www.leschevaliers-lefilm.com).
::: IAMX - Last show of the year
IAMX will play their last show of the year at Autumn Rock Festival in Braine-Le-Comte, Belgium on Sept 17. Chris will take IAMX back to Studio in Oct-Nov to start working on the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut release Kiss+Swallow.

::: The Sneaker Pimps are in the studio
The band is in the studio: new 5.1 DVD albums re-issue scheduled for autumn 2005.
The Sneaker Pimps are currently in London recording their first 5.1 studio albums, "BecomingX" and "Splinter", due for release this Autumn. The 2 DVDs, to be released on One Little Indian, will be distributed worldwide.
In addition to the original track listing, those DVDs will feature all sorts of extras: additional tracks like "Velvet divorce" and "Firestarter", instrumentals, old footage, photos, press clips, original lyric books, ...
Finally, the Sneaker Pimps are launching a competition: "GIVE IT ANOTHER ANGLE". "Angle" was a demo that the lads never finished. Liam thought it might be an interesting idea to give it to "UTF" and see if you, fans, can make a song out of it. Sample it, chop it, etc and make it the hidden "becoming x" tune that never got finished. The best mix/cover will be released over the DVD ! Deadline is end of July 2005. Liam donated a very deep version of Emiliana Torrini's "Thinking Out Loud" song, available for download over SNEAKERPIMPS.be.
Quoting Liam: "‘Thinking Out Loud’ this is the original demo recorded by line of flight at line of flight. It was one of two tracks, the second was called ‘my forget me not’. Sneaker Pimps have always had close ties with Emiliana as they were both on One Little Indian for some time. When They asked Keli to leave Emiliana did step in for a while and the concept of her fronting the band was entertained. She recorded ‘Low Five’ and ‘10 to 20’, the latter she would perform regularly in her live sets (although a very different version to the one that was settled upon). Emiliana’s second LP Fishermans Woman is out on Rough Trade. ‘Thinking out loud’ is the penultimate track."
::: Sneaker Pimps - the lads go 5.1
Liam and Chris are embarking on a project to re-present the albums ‘becoming x’ and ‘splinter’ in 5.1 surround sound. They will be working from the original tapes whilst adding and revamping, pushing the old classics into a new era. It has even been suggested that Splinter will be entirely revocalled by Chris to bring a brand new quality to it. The packages will be accompanied by visuals and extras.

The lads are currently busy at recording additional tracks for the next Sneaker Pimps LP. The working titles of these tracks are: "Cold Shoulder", "Timmy’s Dead", "Love Me Stupid", "No Home To Go To" and "Fighter". Titles are subject to change before the album appears.

The new transporter LP "all these lines make noises" has been delayed due to an accident Ian underwent in Tallin, Estonia at the start of the month. Hopefully nothing too serious and the release should not be delayed by much.
Racket: once the El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Raqueta 12" final mix will be completed and that the 4 versions will be mastered, 1.000 copies of the vinyl will be pressed, as a limited release. It features the original transporter mix (featuring Dave Westlake on drums) and three other mixes by two different producers. Prepare to get yours !

Band is called Stigma and the track has been translated in Rumanian: Dragostea-i nebuna.

Quoting Liam: "Low Five was a really important tune for us, it was the track that forced our split from Kelli (as we couldn't imagine it being better sung by anyone else than Chris). This mix (Low Five For Lovers), is very unusual. It has never ever been released, we did it to explore potential sounds, and found it too soft to present. theponeyexpress are currently working on the movie clip starring Kiss + Swallow. Chris met with the mates when touring in Belgium this year and was convinced by their genius. The clip will be a mix of flash and animation. More to come ...

Chris asked various people to work on "Your joy is my Low" while the "Kiss + Swallow" remixes haven't been widely released so far. We still have no information on what will be the next release.

The new opus "All these lines make noises" should be ready and available soon in the new year.
As a Christmas gift, Ian has selected five old tracks, really rough demos and out-takes that won't appear on the album. The songs are: Slow Motion Chaos, How'd you get along?, Hymn to the Midwest, Micro-ego, Big Money and Pig Heart. These are exclusive and unique as the original tapes and recordings have been lost. All these songs will be available as a free download for Christmas.
::: Line Of Flight and The Zip
In January our production company Line of Flight will be launching a website 'lineofflight.com' dedicated to all the external production work we do and to archive LoF's activities through the years. These activities have ranged from art pieces to films to sound projects to remixes and productions. In addition we will be developing an online sample emporium so users can access some of LoF's 40G of never released before samples known internally as 'the great opus'. This site will be commercially laucnced, however fans and or members will have priviliged access.
Liam's solo project 'The Zip' will finally see the light of day in 2005. There will be three consecutive releases, the first more DJ slash and paste, the second the Zip's dance project, and the third an LP of dark ballads to go to sleep to in a cloud of exhaust fumes. Again a web site is planned for launch early next year. 'Thezip.org'

NEW LP "GET RID" OUT OCTOBER 29th ACROSS FRANCE
Robots in Disguise are back with their second album called "Get RID". Preceded by a buzz, from NY to Tokyo, from Melbourne to London, this new opus follows the tracks of their cheered "Do It Yourself" punk, with a huge touch of electronic. The result of it oscillates between the 80's pop and totally "club" tracks, in the image of "The DJ's Got A Gun", which does very well by all DJs.

::: SNEAKER PIMPS : they are back to work
Back to recording sessions: last Friday, the new vocalist was back with the Pimps and Ian expected to start the "recording sessions diary" as from today. Quoting Ian: "We're working through six/seven tunes to play the publishing company in two weeks time. Then we'll know more about the new project and where to take it and what the potential is. But each of us is very excited about the new stuff."
Unreleased tracks: following a request expressed by most of the fans registered in the forum, I contacted the band in order to sort out the "unreleased tracks" affair. To summarize the whole story: most of the tracks that were played during the last Sneaker Pimps tour were about to be stowed in a box in the garage, since they undergone a mutation and hired a new voice. Nevertheless, Ian, Chris and Liam discussed together the point and agreed there wasn't a problem publishing these tracks and it was a good idea. Quoting Ian: "Because otherwise those songs will just never be heard. But nothing is definite - it's just something we think the fans who stuck with the Splinter and Bloodsport era would be interested in.". So, they basically agreed but now need to find the proper way to do this ... Isn't that a good step forward ?

The Racket: the light at the end of the tunnel might not be an oncoming train as the new project of Transporter is nearly finalized. We are currently setting up an online shop in order to make it availabe from all over the world. Chris and Liam might contribute with remixes.

Chris, Liam and Ian have been busy writing new material for the forthcoming Sneaker Pimps Long Player. This will include some of the tunes that were previewed in the spring, as well as brand new creations.

"I AM X", Liam and Joe, will all be involved with the club night Being Boiled at Notting Hill Arts Centre, London 9 December 2003. Also Djing Depeche Mode, Client, and Richard Norris (Droyds).
As well as developing an as yet unnamed solo project David has recorded a drum sample CD / Native Instruments Plug In / Reason Refill called "The Operating Table" to be released on Zero-G in January 2004.
Joe is currently touring with Client and Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode. His Trash Money project has already gained acclaim and is being released on Showbiz Records.
Sneaker Pimps are excited to learn that some fans are developing a covers project. Cover versions are very close to their hearts as those who witnessed their covers set at the ICA will remember. Ryan, from Oddstar, triggered the idea of covering the Sneaker Pimps and submitted this idea on the "Low Place Like Home" yahoo forum. Rapidly, the idea made his way and provoked a wave of posts on the forum: definitely fans wanted to be part of it.
This project needed a place to be where the information could be centralized, easy to share and accessible for everyone, and not only the fans! Being all but a musician, I brought my contribution by making this little web site ...
The site is evolving thanks to fans who are very active and inclined to provide with new materials. On my side, I promise I'll make my best to keep it updated on a very regular basis.
